Abel Tesfaye , better known by the stage name The Weeknd is a singer, composer and Canadian DJ from Scarborough in Ontario and whose parents are from Ethiopia.
If you’ve never eared about him lately you might live under a rock. Since 2011, Drake and The Weeknd have dominated the thriving hip-hop/R&B scene in Toronto. In a sense, it seems that Drake helped put The Weeknd on. After all, to many of us, The Weeknd was an unknown before Drake co-signed his debut project House Of Balloons for the world to see on his blog.
However Abel is back in 2015 with a new album called “Beauty Behind The Madness” and we decided to share with you this song called Tell Your friends.
The song, one of the highlights in an album full of them, is co-produced by Kanye West, with what sounds like a prominent sample of Soul Dog’s “Can’t Stop Lovin’ You” (a favorite of hip-hop producers).
